As reported by WBNG News:
A local group of Girl Scouts knit their way in to the hearts of flood victims.
Troop 1211 in Newark Valley teamed up with an organization called “Knot Just A Blanket,” to make blankets for children effected by the flooding.
The Girl Scouts made about 30 blankets Saturday afternoon, and many of those will be immediately delivered to families in Owego.
“The blanket was an idea that we had because it’s not just a blanket as our name says. It’s security, it’s something special their getting after they lost everything, or they were effected, it’s something to keep them warm in the cold months ahead,” says co-founder of Knot Just A Blanket, Jennifer Lasher.
If you know of any families that were effected by the recent floods, you can contact the organization through email at knotjustablanket@gmail.com.
