Tomorrow February is upon us. Here are three things you can do with your Girl Scout troop this February.
Celebrate National Girl Scout Cookie Day on February 8th. Attend one of the events taking place around the council, from Marcellus to Penn Yan, to Binghamton/Johnson City. Hold your own service unit rally event to get girls, families, and communities excited about the Girl Scout cookie sale program and the upcoming booth sale season! Post your favorite cookie recipes on your Facebook page for all your friends to see. Get together and make posters, signs, thank you cards and other supplies you’ll need for your first troop booth sale! There are many ways to celebrate.
Celebrate World Thinking Day on February 22nd. World Thinking Day is when girls participate in activities with a global theme to honor their sister Girl Scouts and Girl Guides in other countries. It gives girls a chance to celebrate international friendships and serves as a reminder that Girl Scouts are part of a global community. More information can be found on the Girl Scouts website.
Celebrate Valentine’s Day by participating in the Cake Decorating program being offered in Corning. The program is open to all girls in grades Kindergarten-12th grade so bring your friends too! Girls will get to decorate cupcakes or cakes depending on their age. They will also receive a patch for participating and, of course, they will get to enjoy their cake when they are finished. Find information about this, and other upcoming programs, on the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways website.
