red mansionGirl Scouts of all ages can spend the day on May 18 exploring the Frederic Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg!

Participating girls will take the discovery tour, spend time at the Kids’ Place and take part in an art activity.

  • Between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. participants can complete their discovery tours and scavenger hunts at the main museum.
  • Between 12 and 1 p.m. the Ogdensburg Public Library will be serving pizza and drinks.
  • Between 1 and 2 p.m. girls can enjoy free time at the children’s museum and access the art studio.
  • Between 2 and 3 p.m. girls that have pre-registered can take part in art activities based on Remington’s work. The art lesson for girls in kindergarten through third grade will focus on Remington’s desert scenes and will involve painting paper desert critters with acrylics. Girls in fourth through sixth grades will learn about Remington’s western scenes and involve the girls creating their own western themed picture using magazines for a collage.

The cost to attend is $10 per girl and $8 per adult and the deadline to register for the program is May 10. Non-Girl ScoutsĀ  can attend the program by paying the $12 Girl Scout registration fee. To register for the program, click here.
