Building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place

By: Kim Dunne, Media Manager

fire departmentGirl Scout Troop 10672 from Cicero recently completed their take action project to earn the Girl Scout Bronze Award.

The girls worked with the Cicero Fire Department to complete their award. They began by physically checking every fire hydrant in the fire department’s service area and were asked to identify how many of the hydrants needed reflective markers. As they did this, they also distributed flyers to residents explaining how to care for your neighborhood hydrant throughout the year.

After they identified the number of hydrants that needed the reflective markers, the fire department ordered the markers needed. Earlier this month, the girls met with the firefighters and helped them install the new markers.

Great job girls! If your girls are earning their Bronze, Silver, or Gold Awards – let us know about it! E-mail kdunne@gsnypenn.org.
