The girls in your troop love sledding, building snowmen, and the crisp air that comes with winter. So, here’s three activities to enjoy through those cold winter months.
On Saturday February 2, 2013 at 10am you can join the Nature Lady for a walk along Birdsong Trail, in Monroe county, to discover how animals survive the long cold winter. You’ll even get a chance to feed a chickadee!
The very next Saturday, February 9, 2013, all girls and adults are welcome at the Snowshoe Spectacular! Take time to snowshoe through Montezuma’s forests and grasslands. Learn about the fox, coyotes, and squirrels that inhabit the Montezuma in Savannah, NY.
Then on Tuesday February 19, Junior Girl Scouts can play the past at the Granger Homestead in Canandaigua, NY. Take a tour of the house, play period games, dress up in period clothes, and learn about the women who lived there, while earning your Playing the Past badge.
Some people find it difficult to get outside in the cold winter weather, but you don’t want to miss these activities. So get out there and see how much fun it can be! For more information on these and other upcoming programs visit our website, at http://www.gsnypenn.org
