Look for the Tournament Troop in the Rose Parade!

roseThe 124th Rose Parade, presented by Honda, will step off on Tuesday, January 1 at 8 a.m. (PST). The theme for this year is “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” Every year the parade features marching bands from throughout the nation, majestic floral floats, and high-stepping equestrian units.

Also making an appearance every year is the Tournament of Roses Troop. Each year a new troop is formed by selected Eagle Scouts from the San Gabriel Valley Council and selected Gold Awardees from the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles.

Together, these Scouts join to form the “Tournament Troop” and are entrusted with leading the opening Flag Ceremony and carrying the banners announcing the award-winning float entries in the parade.
