What do you do if a potential Girl Scout cookie customer doesn’t want to order cookies because of a food allergy or they simply don’t want a box of cookies? Tell them about donating to the Gift of Caring program!
The Gift of Caring program is a way for customers to buy cookies to be donated to an organization. This year, the council Gift of Caring recipient is the Food Bank of CNY.
The Food Bank of Central New York is a not-for-profit organization working to eliminate hunger through nutritious food distribution, education and advocacy in cooperation with the community. They partner with 277 emergency food programs in the counties of Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, and St. Lawrence.
I’m sure that those that utilize the services of the food bank will be thrilled in receiving a box of Girl Scout cookies!
Last year, 648 cases – that totals 7,776 boxes – of cookies were donated to the Salvation Army through the Gift of Caring program! Help us do just as well, if not better, this year and help combat hunger by encouraging customers to donate a box of cookies!
