Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways is always adding new programs to the list of available opportunities for girls to participate in. Here are three new programs on the council website.
Tell Your Story, May 4, 2013 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Norwich, NY (Chenango County), Spend a morning creating with fabric! Brownies will make “A Special Piece of the Whole,” putting their pieces together to create a quilt. Juniors will work together to make a story quilt as part of “Our Muse, Your Project.” Each girl will receive a fun patch! Open to girls in grade 2-5.
Brownies in the Kitchen, Thursday, May 9, 2013 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Apalachin, NY (Tioga County), Healthy snacks give you energy between meals to help get you through your day. Learn to make Peanut Butter Energy Balls, a no-bake energy snack. Snacks in liquid form can be just as delicious and nutritious. Make a healthier version of a milkshake, Chocolate Monkey Shakes, and Very Berry Smoothies, a fun fruit smoothie. Recipes will be provided. These activities fulfill some of the requirements of the Snacks badge.
Give Back and Learn the Ropes, Saturday, May 18, 2013 9 a.m. to noon, Keuka Park, NY (Yates County), Help the TEAMWORKS! staff at Keuka College ready their Ropes course and the surrounding facility for the upcoming season. Paint, weed, mulch, mark trails, and more. In exchange for your help, you can come back on June 8th for a discounted program of icebreakers, energizers, ground activities, and the low/swinging elements. After each activity, review what happened from the perspective of group dynamics. With success, you will gain wisdom to apply to your everyday life! Open to girls in grades 6-12.
