Recognizing Volunteers

By Lisa Kaminski; Manager, Community Development

April 22nd is Girl Scout leader’s day. It is a day when we recognize all of the volunteers who work as leaders and mentors in partnership with girls. People volunteer with Girl Scouts because they believe in the mission of Girl Scouting – to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. As individuals they find satisfaction in helping girls, in building new skills, and in knowing that they are making a difference.

Some ideas for girls, parents, families, and communities to recognize Girl Scout volunteers include; thank you cards, handmade picture frames with pictures of the girls in the troop, certificates, submitting letters to the editor honoring the volunteer, or nominating them for a special award.

Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways is holding adult recognition events to honor volunteers throughout our jurisdiction. The events are free of charge and all run from 5:30-9:00pm.
