Earning the Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards are the highest honors a girl can receive in Girl Scouting. Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways holds Young Women of Distinction events to individually recognize the girls who earn these awards.
At the events each girl is individually recognized, receives her recognition letter, has a chance to speak about her project and award, and share their special day with their family and friends.
This year there are four events planned.
- May 20, 2013: NY Chiropractic College, North Dining Hall, Seneca Falls, NY
Keynote: Katrina Slaski, Author and Former Girl Scout
- May 21, 2013: Elmira College, Hamilton Hall, Elmira, NY
Keynote: Sherry Trocino, Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Elmira College
- May 28, 2013: SUNY Oswego, Sheldon Hall, Oswego, NY
Keynote: Kimberly Steele, Attorney and Former Girl Scout
- May 29, 2013: SUNY IT, Student Center Multipurpose Room, Utica, NY
Keynote: Ann Rushlo, Executive Director of Leadership Mohawk Valley and Former Girl Scout
Any girl who completed her project and paperwork by the deadline was sent an invitation to the events. If you are interested in attending an event, even if you did not receive an invitation, or just to help to recognize the achievements of these young ladies, check out the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways website at www.gsnypenn.org, for information on registering.
