The end of school for many girls in the Girl Scouts of NYPENN pathways jurisdiction is either only days away or has already occurred. Summer vacation is the time that many girls participate in a summer camp experience.
Summer camp experiences provide girls with a chance to develop life skills, and learn social skills. Activities such as building a fire, conquering a ropes course, and learning how to get along with new friends provide girls with a manageable amount of risk so that they can comfortably acquire new skills.
Summer camp at Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways offers girls 7 things that all girls need. These include forming new relationships, learning about themselves, feeling in control, being treated fairly, a feeling of belonging, physical activity, and learning how to understand others.
There are still camp programs that have space available. Some of them include Craft Craze at Camp Trefoil, Art Extravaganza, Movin and Groovin, and Be Extreme, all at Camp Comstock.
