Many troops are winding down for the summer and plan on taking a break from Girl Scout activities until the fall, when school begins again. If you’re a troop leader you might be doing a little planning now so the fall season is not so hectic. Here are three program events you can plan on now, to take girls to this fall:
Bullying and Helping Hands -Monday, October 7, 2013 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Galleria Room, Utica Public Library, 303 Genessee Street, Utica, NY 13501, (Oneida County), Open to Girl Scouts in grades K–5, What are the dynamics behind bullying? How can you help yourself if you are being bullied? How can you help someone else who is being bullied? Gain the tools you need to identify bullying behavior and what to do when you encounter it. You’ll earn a “Stop Bullying” fun patch when you do!
Ole Covered Wagon Tour, October – Saturday, October 19, 2013 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Wellsboro, PA (Tioga County), Open to Girl Scouts in grades K–12 and adults, Take a tour through the wondrous Pennsylvania Grand Canyon on a horse-drawn covered wagon. As you wind your way along the Pine Creek Rail Trail, your tour guides will tell the tale of the Canyon’s history going back to the 19th century. Don’t just learn about history—experience it yourself!
Brownie Girls’ Night Out, Fall – Wednesday, November 20, 2013 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Johnson City, NY (Broome County), Open to Girl Scouts in grades 2–3, You’re invited to a Girl’s Night Out! Do some activities, have a snack, have fun, and perhaps make new friends! A fun patch related to the activities will be available for purchase in our Boutique. Each girl who brings a non-registered friend will receive a free “bring a friend” patch—and the friend will get one, too!
