Apply to Become a Girl Advisory Board Member!

By: Kim Dunne, Media Manager

GABThe Girl Advisory Board, established by our CEO, Pam Hyland, provides her with the guidance she needs to ensure that the Girl Scout experience is relevant to the needs of today’s girls. The input and advice provided to Pam from the Girl Advisory Board is shared with the Board of Directors, which ultimately sets the direction for Girl Scouting in our jurisdiction, and with the staff who, in partnership with adult volunteers, delivers the Girl Scout experience to girls.

We are looking for new members to join the Girl Advisory Board! As a member you would be part of a cooperative learning team and in a safe place where girls can share their thoughts about what girls needs and want, as well as their ideas on how Girl Scouts can be the program of choice for girls today. Pam counts on the Girl Advisory Board to help her be a successful CEO with “success” defined by how well our council delivers on the promise we make to girls of them becoming young women of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Girl Advisory Board, you need to fill out the application, found here, and return it by mail to Executive Office, Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, 8170 Thompson Road, Cicero, NY 13039-9393 or e-mail it to

The current members of the Girl Advisory Board will review all applications with Pam to select each year’s team. Terms begin in September. Meetings are held quarterly, usually on a Sunday from 2-5 at the Cicero Service Center. Make sure to submit a photo of yourself when sending in an application.
