Are you a troop leader who is beginning to think about planning for the start of the troop year? If you’re looking for activities for the girls in your troop to participate in Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways has some great fall programs planned! Here are three:
Autumn Leaves – Saturday, September 21, 2013, 10 a.m. to noon , Mendon Ponds Park, 95 Douglas Road, Honeoye Falls, NY, 14472, (Monroe County), Open to Girl Scouts in grades K–8 and non-registered girls. Celebrate the first day of Autumn with a woodland walk in Mendon Ponds Park! Along the way learn how to identify common forest trees and examine the seasonal process of deciduous fall color. Discover the many ways native wildlife use trees for shelter, food, and homes. Create fun leaf art projects to take home!
Cheerleading Clinic, September – Saturday, September 28, 2013 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. , Murray Athletic Center, “The Domes”, Elmira College, 170 Huck Finn Road, Horseheads, NY14845 (Chemung County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades K–12 and non-registered girls. Learn cheerleading skills! The nationally ranked Elmira College Cheerleaders and coaches will teach you cheers, chants, dance, stunting, and tumbling. Dress comfortably in sneakers and clothes that allow you to move freely. Bring a lunch and water.
Princess Dance Party – Sunday, October 6, 2013, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Roberson Museum and Science Center, 30 Front Street, Binghamton, NY, 13905, (Broome County), Open to Girl Scouts in grades K–5. Dress in your favorite Princess attire for a special dance party in the beautiful Roberson Mansion Ballroom. In addition to dancing and making new friends, you will make your very own princess wand. Snacks and drinks provided.
