High School Girls To Participate in College Life Program

By: Kim Dunne, Media Manager

college life“You’re as awkward as you think – and that’s okay,” “social media and body image,” and “science demonstrations” – these are the program sessions that 9th and 10th grade girls from Phoenix and Fulton school will be taking part in this week during a College Life program. The GetHerThere College Life program is taking place on Thursday at the Fulton Campus of Cayuga Community College.

The program sessions give girls the opportunity to experience college type classes in psychology, social media, and science. Girls will also take a career assessment test and have the opportunity to ask questions of a college panel.

The College Life program is part of the Girl Scouts’ ToGetHerThere initiative. ToGetHerThere is all about empowering girls to do whatever they want to do and be whoever they want to be. By believing in girls, together we can get her there.

What do you think about the College Life program? Would you want your girls to attend one if given the opportunity?

  1. I would like to have more info on the College Life Program for HS girls.  My daughter is a Junior this year and would be interested in attending one that is offered close to the Syracuse area.  Please reply if you have any info about one coming soon here.   Saundra Co-Leader  Troop #10701
