We save some cookies from the previous year (in a freezer of course) and use them to have a New Cookie Season Party. We have cookies and milk on the menu and plan fun activities. First we have an opening bell ringer where the girls come in to a cookie craft. In past years we have made no bake cookies, made cookie SWAP pins or filled out a journal page for our treasure chest about our favorite cookie season.
Then the girls make a list of the top three things they would like to do with our cookie money. At least one thing has to include a community service project as I always make sure we give a portion of our money back to the community. Then we take all their ideas and have a vote. I let them know the top three things and then we work towards those ideas during the cookie season.
With a goal of what fun things we can do ahead of time, the cookie season goes that much better!
How are you getting your girls excited about the Girl Scout Cookie Program?
