Owls are a hoot – January 29, 6-6:45pm, Johnson City Service Center, Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, Oakdale Mall Suite 52, 601–635 Harry L Drive, Johnson City, NY, 13760, (Broome County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades 2–3 The Great Horned Owl is the largest owl in North America. Did you know there are about 162 other species of owls in the world today? Come learn more interesting facts about this nocturnal creature, make cool recycled paper owls to take home, and make up a song about owls! This program meets the requirement for the Girl Scout Way badge step 1. A Girls’ Night Out fun patch is included in the fee.
Snowshoeing at Lime Hollow – February 8, 1-3pm, Lime Hollow Center for Environment and Culture, 338 McLean Road, Cortland, NY, 13045 (Cortland County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades 2–12 Join us for some snowshoeing fun at Lime Hollow! If you’ve never tried this fun, easy sport, this is your big chance! You’ll receive instruction on how to snowshoe and take a “walk” along the trails to explore winter creatures and habitats.
Snowshoe Spectacular – February 8, 2-4pm, Montezuma Audubon Center, 29985 Route 89, Savannah, NY, 13146, (Wayne County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades K–12 and adults Start your winter wonderland adventure with snowshoeing through part of the refuge on the great groomed trails available. Then come inside the center to warm up, have some hot cocoa, and create a fun nature craft! Seniors will earn the Adventurer badge for completing this program. View the event flier.
