The celebration is taking place on March 8 from 3-4:30 p.m. at the SUNY Oswego Newman Center, 36 New Street in Oswego.
International Women’s Day is a global celebration of women’s achievements throughout history and across nations. The Zonta Club is partnering with the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways and other women’s organizations to participate by creating displays, poems, songs, presentations, or sharing stories about women and girls around the globe.
To provide essential items to women who give birth at home in developing countries, they will be collecting supplies for birthing kits to be shipped all over the world. The supplies needed include bar soap (1 to 2 oz. size); 2″ gauze, latex gloves, one edge razor blades, 3″ by 3″ plastic sheeting (4 ml thick); cotton string; gallon size resealable bags; and receiving blankets (30 x 30 or 32 x 32).
If you’re interested in participating contact Inga Back at (315) 343-8733 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
