Girl Scouts Create Video to Earn Silver Award!

By: Kim Dunne, Media Manager

silverAwardPinCallie, Abby, and Emma from Girl Scout Troop 10190 in the Syracuse area knew they wanted to help animals with their Girl Scout Silver Award project. So they began researching and looking for programs that helped animals. They came across the Kennels for Canines program.

The Kennels for Canines program helps raise money to update the kennels at the SPCA and they needed help raising money in order to reach its final goal of $10,000.

The girls decided they wanted to make a video that informed people about the SPCA and how they could help with Kennels for Canines. They contacted the SPCA and received permission to film there and to interview Nancy Graham, the CNYSPCA Education Coordinator. The girls filmed many clips of the new kennels, the old kennels and various shots of the animals.

After they filmed the girls began the long editing process until the video was in publishing form. Support the girls project by watching the video, here.

Great job girls!
