When Girl Scouts launched its program for girls in kindergarten and 1st grade. Daisy Girl Scouts.
The program for the youngest girl scouts is named after Girl Scouting’s founder, Juliette “Daisy” Gordon Low. The Daisy Girl Scout program began in 1984 and has since been providing girls the opportunity to meet new friends, take trips, and learn about their communities. Daisy Girl Scouts can earn learning petals and participation patches. Girls can also earn Journey awards from three different journeys – Welcome to the Daisy Flower Garden, Between Earth and Sky, and 5 Flowers, 4 Stories, and 3 Cheers for Animals. Daisy Girl Scout volunteers can find sample activities and resources to use when working on these journeys with girls on the council website at http://www.gsnypenn.org
One special patch available this year is the 30th anniversary Daisy Girl Scout patch, available in the Girl Scouts of NYPENN pathways boutiques.
