Troops that took a break over the summer are beginning to meet again with the start of the new school year. If you are looking for some fun program events that you can take your Girl Scout of your troop to, here are three:
Amahami Harvest Festival – Saturday, October 4, 11am-4:30pm, Amahami Outdoor Program Center, 434 Page Pond Road, Deposit, NY 13754, (Broome County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades K–12 and adults
Enjoy the fall colors as you explore camp at the third annual Harvest Festival at Amahami! Participate in a scavenger hunt, go on a guided hike, make some fall crafts, and learn some new songs for the end-of-the-day campfire! We will have a no-hands-allowed donut eating contest and, of course, apple cider, too! Please bring a bag lunch and drink as no food will be available. The Girl Scout traveling store will be there with lots of fun things for the girls to buy. Leaders may call the boutique at 724-6572 ext. 2417 to order and pay by credit/debit card for items they would like brought out to camp the day of the program. These orders must be placed by Wednesday, October 1.
Fall festival at Massey Ranch – Friday, October 10, 5-7pm, Massey Ranch, 20605 Combs Road, Watertown, NY 13601, (Jefferson County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades K–12, adults, and non-registered girls
Celebrate fall and its glorious colors at Massey Ranch. You’ll get to pick your own mini-pumpkin or gourd and enjoy a hayride. Brush up on your favorite songs for the end-of-the-day campfire!
Finger Lakes Mall lock-in – 6;30pm Sunday, October 12- 7am Monday, October 13, Finger Lakes Mall, 1579 Clark Street Road, Auburn, NY 13022, (Cayuga County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades 2–12, adults, and non-registered girls. Come for a night filled with tons of great activities, food, friends, and fun! Enjoy a movie at the Track Cinema, a Mall scavenger hunt, Zumba, and a mall mystery. Some of the stores and food court vendors will remain open after hours so bring some spending money! Wind down the night with some crafts and dancing, then cozy up for the night inside the mall! A late night snack and breakfast will be provided. Every girl who attends will receive a draw bag and Mall lock-in patch! Any registered Girl Scout that brings a non-registered friend will receive a free goodie bag full of fun things and a “Bring a Friend Patch.” Any adult that would like to help facilitate the evening will receive half off his or her registration fee. (Maximum 10 volunteers). Brownie level Girl Scouts need to attend as a troop.
