Celebrate girls

By Lisa Kaminski; Manager, Community Development

SM_GirlsCanBeAnythingNovember 14 is International Girls’ Day. The day, which seeks to celebrate girls, their spirits, and all that they can achieve, was started by the Kappa Delta Sorority. Each year events are planned which recognize girls and help them to celebrate their achievements and successes in life, and build their confidence.

Today’s girl is tomorrow’s leader. A girl who attends Camp CEO could go on to become a CEO of a successful business or organization. A girls who is president of her class in school could go on to become president of the United States. A girl who finds she is successful in activities she does in Girl Scouting could see how she can be successful in many other areas of her life as well.

In partnership with Kappa Delta Sorority, Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways is offering a program event to celebrate International Girls’ Day.

She and me is being offered Saturday November 15th, from 1-3pm. It is being held at Kappa Delta House, 109 Triphammer Road,  Ithaca, NY 14850. (Tompkins County). It is open to Girl Scouts in grades K–12 and non-registered girls.
Grab your favorite “she” and celebrate International Girls’ Day with members of Kappa Delta sorority. Develop confidence and learn the importance of having a strong network of supporters and role models through crafts, games, and discussions. This afternoon will help build the bond between you and your favorite female.

So, get your troop together and go celebrate girls!
