SWEet Scout Tech Day – Sunday, March 1, 1:00-5:00pm, Corning Community College, 1 Academic Drive, Corning, NY 14870, (Steuben County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades 4–12, adults, and non-registered girls. Join the Corning Society of Women Engineers for an afternoon of hands-on fun and experimentation. Explore engineering careers through hands-on experiments. Make Rocky Road edible asphalt, try some food chemistry, and have fun with electronics manufacturing! The program fee includes all activities and a badge for the day.
Ms. Fix it – Saturday May 9, 10:00am-4:00pm, Camp Trefoil, 168 Rose Road, Harrisville, NY 13648, (St. Lawrence County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades 4–8. Come out to camp and learn how to do basic repairs while you help us spruce up the camp. We will have special projects just for you. You will also learn how to take an energy audit of our buildings and try your hand at solar cooking. Lunch will be provided.
Rainbow World Jamboree – 7:00pm Friday May 15- 11:00am Sunday May 17, Comstock Program Center, 1419 Taughannock Boulevard, Ithaca, NY 14850, (Tompkins County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades 6–12 and adults. Put your camp skills to the test! Join us for this popular annual event. Girls and Leaders will compete in camp skill challenges such as outdoor cooking, shelter building, lashing, knot tying, and many others! It’s a weekend filled with whacky competitions and loads of fun.
