Girl Scouts of the USA has announced a new multi-year partnership with Toyota Financial Services (TFS), which has pledged $1.72 million to ToGetHerThere, the largest-ever philanthropic campaign for girls. This new initiative will empower 24,000 underserved girls across the country to become financially savvy leaders able to transform their communities and impact the world.
According to the Girl Scout Research Institute, girls clearly desire financial empowerment skills. In fact, 90 percent say it is important for them to learn how to manage money. Girls are extremely optimistic about their future lives, but they admit to lacking the financial confidence and knowledge they need to make their dreams a reality.
Through this corporate citizenship program, entitled “Driving My Financial Future,” underserved middle and high school girls will be encouraged to pursue their dreams by acquiring financial empowerment skills. Each participant will have her own copy of the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting, which will help girls earn their financial literacy badges and a TFS participation patch. GSUSA and TFS are exciting to partners together to help girls become self-reliant, financially informed, and capable of leveraging their talent, resources, and personal business values to make the world a better place!
