Did you know that the television, the popsicle, water skis, and earmuffs all have something in common? Did you know that they were all invented by kids? Kid Inventor’s Day is recognized annual on January 17th. It is a day to encourage creativity among youth.
If you’re looking for activities to do with girls in your troop you could read about Kid Inventor’s Day, host an invention convention, design your own invention, or if you work with a group of Brownie Girl Scouts you can work on the Brownie Inventor Badge.
There are five steps to earning the badge and they include: making an inventor’s notebook and writing down ideas, coming up with lots of ways to solve a problem, making a needs list, solving a problem, and sharing your invention with others.
