Do you love music? Do you want to learn more about barbershop harmony? Then this is a great opportunity for you! Girls in grades 6 and up can attend this chorus festival all about A Capella at the Liverpool High School on Saturday, February 28.
It’ll be a full day of a capella music, barbershop harmony, and participants will be performing an evening concert. Sheet music and part-predominant learning media for two songs will be sent to participants ahead of time. You will be asked to have the songs and parts prepared and memorized when you go to the festival. You’ll then work during the day with your groups to perfect the songs that will be performed that evening.
You do need to register ahead of time in order to reserve your place in the festival. There’s no cost to attend unless you plan on purchasing lunch and/or dinner at the event. All non-participant concert attendees are asked for a $5 donation.
In order to register, visit the Spirit of Syracuse Chorus website.
As a Girl Scout there’s a special offer for you as well! There’s a brand new activity patch called the Young Women in Harmony activity badge that can be earned by participating in this event. If you are a Girl Scout member, please say so on the registration form and you’ll receive your patch at the end of the event.
This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in music or a capella singing! We hope to see you there!
