Three things for Thursday

icantwaitLooking for some new program events to take the girls in your troop to? Here are three:

Make your own fairy house – Sunday, April 12, 1-3pm, Seneca Meadows Wetlands Preserve, NY Route 414, Waterloo, NY 13148, (Seneca County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades K–8. Have you ever seen a fairy house? They are adorable miniature homes, perfect for fairies, and made from materials found in nature. Come see where your creativity leads as you make your very own fairy house! This program is open to the public.

Party in the parks – Sunday, April 26, 1-4pm, Franklin Field, 1147 North James Street,  Rome, NY 13440, (Oneida County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades K–12. Join in a community-wide Earth Day Take Action Project to clean up the parks and the Mohawk River Trail in the city of Rome. Meet at Franklin Field and be assigned an area to clean. When your work is done, return to Franklin Field for a pizza party to celebrate your accomplishment! Participants will receive an Earth Day patch.

Tour Engelbert Farms – Friday May 1st, Engelbert Farms, 182 Sunnyside Road, Nichols, NY 13812, (Tioga County New York). Open to Girl Scouts in grades K–5 and adults
Come see the milk house, the milking parlor, cows, pigs, and calves! Learn about farming and what it means to be an organic farmer. The tour will end at the farm store with a small stack.
