This weekend we are celebrating the positive impact girls make on their communities through the Girl Scout Cookie Program! Not only are girls selling these delicious treats this weekend but they are learning the basic skills they need to be leaders in business and sales, manage their personal and family finances, and gain self-sufficiency and confidence handling money.
One hundred percent of the net revenue raised through Girl Scout Cookie sales stays locally, and girls decide how their troop cookie money is spent. This year’s National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend will celebrate girls across the country who use their cookie revenue to fund projects that impact their communities in amazing ways. It will also celebrate the essential “5 Skills” each #cookieboss learns through the cookie program: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics.
Not only can you order traditional cookies like Thin Mints and Samoas this year, but there’s a new cookie available too! The Rah-Rah Raisins cookie is an oatmeal raisin cookie with whole grain oats, plump, juicy raisins, and Greek yogurt-flavored chunks.
Local Girl Scouts that take part in a walkabout this weekend can submit their photos to the product sales department and earn the National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend patch!
Don’t forget to check out http://www.girlscoutcookies.org or use the newly enhanced official Girl Scout Cookie Finder app, free for your iOS or Android phone or mobile device to find out more about the cookies available and when and where cookies will be near you!
