Songs and a stroll — Monday, October 12th, 11am-3pm, Casey Park Lodge, Casey Park, 6551 Knickerbocker Rd, Ontario, NY 14519, (Wayne County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades 2-5. Girls, are you looking for something different to do with your day off on Columbus Day? Then come to Casey Park to enjoy a tree-covered, leisurely walk along a 100-year-old water-filled iron ore bed. After that, you’ll have the chance to get silly doing “repeat” songs such as “Boom Chicka Boom,” and “The Princess Pat.” We’ll also learn songs that get you up off your feet and moving, along with the traditional songs every Girl Scout should know, such as “On My Honor” and every verse to “Make New Friends!” Girls are welcome to bring a friend as we enjoy our day of fun, day off from school. Girls and adults will get a booklet to keep of the songs we learn. We will take a short break during the day for lunch, so please bring a bag lunch. Drinks and a dessert treat will be provided.
International Day at Kappa Delta – Saturday, October 24, 1-3pm, Kappa Delta Sorority House, 109 Triphammer Road, Ithaca, NY 14850, (Tompkins County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades K–12
Come learn about different cultures and countries from girls who have traveled abroad. Enjoy some yummy snacks from around the world!
Flashlight Zoo Safari – Friday, November 20th, 6:30-8:30pm, Thompson Park Zoo, 1 Thompson Park
Watertown, NY, (Jefferson County). Open to Girl Scouts in grades K-3, Non-registered girls. Grab your flashlight because nighttime is the right time to experience the zoo in a whole new way! Your safari will begin with a meet and greet with some of our animal ambassadors. We’ll pet the cutest and cuddle the cuddliest first before moving on to our owls, spiders and other creatures that go BUMP in the night. Next we’ll take a behind the scenes tour, grab a few special snacks to deliver to some of our nocturnal creatures! Our after dark tour will include visits to the wolves, lynx, bobcats and more. The evening will end with a late night snack. Bring a friend and show her how much fun Girl Scouts can be!
