The Junior Girl Scouts from Troop 20881 in Sauquoit were making final plans for earning their Simple Cooking badge. They were planning on taking over the kitchen at a local high school and making the Croque Monsier sandwich and an Eclair for dessert. Then the violent attacks in Paris happened.
Since the girls had already chosen a French meal to prepare, co-leaders Rebecca Connors and Jill Hayes took that opportunity to discuss the current events and how each one of us can make a difference in making the world a better place.
“The girls all agreed that by practicing kindness, tolerance, and love, they can change the world,” Rebecca said.
Not only are these girls going to go on to change the world, they had a great time learning about cooking and preparing the meal!
