It’s no secret that some of the most influential and highest-paying jobs of tomorrow (and today!) are in the tech industry, yet woman hold only a small fraction of those positions. That’s why Girl Scouts isn’t just back at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this year – we’re making a bigger splash than ever!
Not only did we present Digital Cookie 2.0, our newly enhanced online addition to the iconic Girl Scout Cookie Program, but we’re also giving girls a unique opportunity to get wisdom directly from top industry insiders – including prominent Girl Scout alumnae. Girl Scouts of Northern California and Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada led the demonstration of Digital Cookie’s fun and educational features, and also conducted interviews with some of the most prominent tech pros at CES. These interviews will later be available via Girl Scouts’ social media channels to help girls everywhere access the wisdom and inspiration they need to succeed in this male-dominated field.
Our commitment to opening girls’ worlds to STEM fields is nothing new. In fact, Girl Scouts has its roots in acquainting girls with the world of STEM: we’ve been offering STEM badges since 1913.
Help us stand with girls as they get excited about science, technology, engineering, and math! Simply post a pic to Instagram or Twitter along with the hashtag #genSTEMgirls and the reason you’re supporting girls as they explore the world of STEM. Then look for a message from Girl Scouts with instructions on how to claim your post and enter to win a full year’s worth of Girl Scout Cookies!
