By: Kim Dunne, Media Manager

food bankGirls from Troop 30312 from the Unatego Service Unit are working hard to earn the Girl Scout Bronze Award!

So far the girls coordinated a food drive at their elementary school which gathered 706 items for the local food bank.

The girls also all donated hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and brushes/combs to put together 50 bags that were also donated to the Unadilla and Otego food banks.food bank2

The girls have two more projects planned this spring before they wrap up their Bronze Award. They are planning another food drive at a local grocery store around Easter. They will also be planting vegetables from seed, and constructing planter boxes. The mature seedlings and planter boxes will be donated to the food bank for them to distribute to clients.

Way to go girls! Share what your girls are doing to earn their Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards by e-mailing details and photos to kdunne@gsnypenn.org.

  1. Girl Scout troop 312, wouldn’t be able to do all do all that they do, if it weren’t for their troop leader, Kelly Renwick. She does a amazing job working with the girls. This troop has the best leader!

  2. Yay for Girl Scout troop 312! Very proud of our girls and very thankful for our leader, Kellie Renwick! I agree wholeheartedly with Stephanie…she does an AMAZING job working with our girls and has invested so much into their lives.
