What is it like living in a cardboard box? How would you feel if you didn’t have enough food to eat? You can learn about hunger and homelessness in our area at the annual Youth Homeless Experience.
It’s taking place Friday, May 6 to Saturday, May 7 at the Auburn Correctional Training Center.
You’ll join together with other scouts and local youth groups to build your own shelter and participate in activities focusing around the issues of hunger and homelessness. Students in second through 12th grades can attend.
The program will end with an Oxfam America Hunger Banquet Breakfast.
The cost to attend is a $5 entry fee and a donation of a personal care item, a non-perishable food item, or a clothing donation. The deadline to register is Friday, April 22.
