Girls from Troop 10043 wanted to make Valentine’s Day special for area veterans so they sponsored a “get a rose, give a rose” chocolate rose sale.
The girls and volunteers spent hours making chocolate rose lollipops. Friends and families then bought one rose, which covered the cost to make another. All of the roses were then given to local veterans to say thank you for their service and to wish them a Happy Valentine’s Day. Almost 600 chocolate roses were donated!
The girls took a trip to the VA Medical Center in Syracuse where they went room to room handing out roses to patients on all of the floors. They left several boxes behind to be given to the outpatient clinic and others on the floors. The rest of the roses were donated to the Baldwinsville American Legion and VFW as well as a large shipment to the USO of Fort Drum to share with soldiers and families up north.
Way to go girls! What are your girls doing to help make the world a better place? E-mail details and photos to email@example.com.
