Girl Scouts from Binghamton area Troop 30031 recently worked on their Brownie Quest and Agent of Change Journeys. As part of that the girls made “Feel Good Baskets” which were donated to the Binghamton YWCA.
The girls did a bottle drive and requested donations from their friends, family, and community in order to make these feel good baskets a reality. They raised enough money to include a blanket, fuzzy socks, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, a planner, a notebook, and of course some Girl Scout cookies! The girls then made each resident a bracelet, flowers, and a homemade card telling them how special they are.
Not only did the girls come up with the idea themselves, they also voted and decided on donating them to the YWCA. The Juniors even called the YWCA to find out what they could use and then voted on what supplies they wanted to include in the baskets. The girls then visited to drop off the baskets.
Way to go girls! Have stories of your girls doing amazing things in their communities? We want to hear about it! E-mail photos and stories to email@example.com.
