Wow, Wetlands – Sunday, May 15, 12:00-2:00pm. Experience the natural world firsthand as you explore the natural setting of the forest and wetlands. Walk on Nichols Pond’s very own Wetland Boardwalk and Lookout. Learn about wetlands and how they impact us and the environment. You’ll also complete a nature-related craft using only materials found in nature! Please bring a bag lunch and a water bottle.
Frog Frenzy – Wednesday, June 1, 6-8pm. Through a hands-on exploration of live pond animals, Girl Scouts will learn how to identify the animals found in a pond, their role in the pond, animal life cycles, and the food chain of a pond. We will also get a chance to see a lot of wiggly creatures!
Get Moving – Saturday, June 25, 1-2:30pm. Take a hike to explore and observe how animals use energy! Trees, wildflowers, bees, birds and chipmunks all use energy differently. How do they consume, use, and transfer energy throughout their ecosystem? We will discuss food chains and webs, as well as other key aspects of ecology.
