Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways has many resources to help volunteers in their roles, working with girls, and helping to make Girl Scouting stronger in all of our communities. One of these resources is our Short and Snappy training guidelines.
We have a Short and Snappy training on social media guidelines. Here are three tips from the training:
Be responsible for what you say and do – remember that things that are posted online are not private and could remain available for viewing for a long time. Use discretion, and ask questions, if you are unsure about posting something. Make sure information you are posting is correct. Check with the GSNYPENN Marketing and communications department if you need additional information.
Be sure girl safety is the #1 priority – never post personal information, meeting information, and always have parent/guardian permission before posting.
Share enthusiasm – If you are posting for a troop, or service unit, share great things that are coming up that girls and families may be interested in participating in, share how people can help by volunteering, and be sure to select links to other website carefully to be sure they are also in accordance with Girl Scout principles.
