We have some exciting news: The Girl Scouts have been invited to participate in the August 31st parade at this year’s New York State Fair! (We know, it’s no Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, sorry.)
We’re putting out the call to troops and individual Girl Scouts within the NYPENN community to take part in the march.
This year, in addition to singing songs, led by our very own Beth Jennings – a.k.a. “Smalls,” we will be joined by a special guest – Syracuse Newschannel 9 meteorologist, and longtime Girl Scout, Kate Thornton. She will be marching with us as we make our way through the fairgrounds.
If you’d like to participate in this year’s parade, but haven’t already RSVP’d, contact Judi Knowlton at email@example.com for details. Troops are welcome to make signs and carry banners, but we ask that all girls wear their Girl Scout vest or sash. Individual girls may also participate, but for safety reasons must be accompanied by an adult.
