Just because the sun is setting earlier and the weather is getting colder doesn’t mean we’re slowing down! “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing,” writer Alfred Wainwright said. So, we’re gearing up and preparing a number of amazing opportunities and programs for Girl Scouts to enjoy throughout this snowy season.
1. Girl Scout Interest meetups: There’s never a bad time to sign up for Girl Scouts, which is why we’re continuing to hold a number of meet-ups for parents and girls to ask us questions and see what we’re all about.
Auburn Troop 61055 is inviting friends and families within their community to join them at the Brogan Manor Community Center on Thursday, December 15 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. They’ll be offering all attending girls and Girl Scouts to participate in making a holiday craft. Meanwhile, parents can enjoying refreshments and learn more about Girl Scout opportunities in Auburn!
Troop 61055 is open to all girls in grades k-5.
2. Leave no trace: As Girl Scouts we make a promise to be good stewards—to leave the world a better place than we found it. We’re offering a Leave No Trace training—an essential course for any Girl Scout or Adult Volunteer who enjoys the outdoors. Practicing Leave No Trace and teaching others about it ensures that the outdoor spaces we love to enjoy will be around for years to come.
3. Only 4 days left to register for CookieWow 17! You read that right, there’s a limited time left to sign up for our biggest event of the year: CookieWow. There’s a lot to celebrate this year, including 100 years of Girl Scouts selling cookies, which has been marked by the release the s’more cookie. CookieWow is about having fun—showing girls the great things they can accomplish through the cookie program.
